Concurso Nacional de Chocolate Colombiano<\/strong>. This competition was held within the framework of the 2023 edition of the <em>Sal\u00f3n del Cacao y Chocolate Colombiano<\/em> in Arauquita, an important cacao-growing region in the state of Arauca. With the partnership of the International Chocolate Awards, the contest was organized with the support of the directors of the Sal\u00f3n and the National Federation of Cacao Growers (FEDECACAO).\u00a0<\/p><p>This second Colombian chocolate competition is part of a program of competitions and educational initiatives designated as the <strong>Cacao Country Support Program<\/strong> of the International Chocolate Awards. The program began in 2015 with the creation of the Peruvian National Competition, now in its eight year, followed by the Central American Regional Competition in 2017, the 1er. Concurso de Chocolate Colombiano in 2021, and this past November, the 1er. Concurso Nacional de Chocolate Mexicano. These events focus on fine origin cacao and follow the same protocols and rules used for all our competitions, which are overseen by the IICCT and our expert Grand Jury panel.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>The objectives of the Colombian national competition have been to support excellence, generate competition, give added value to fine Colombian cacao by recognizing high quality chocolates and derived products, promote sustainable businesses, increase chocolate consumption in the national market, and contribute to the greater visibility of Colombian chocolate elsewhere. The competition uses protocols already validated by a committee of international experts, which guarantees independence and transparency during the execution of the competition.<\/p><h4>Judges<\/h4><p>A team of Colombian and international judges have diligently worked remotely testing and evaluating anonymous chocolate samples in various categories from all over Colombia. This competition was executed taking into account the International Chocolate Awards Protocols and its online system.<\/p><p>All judging was anonymized, included at the Grand Jury final session, where Golds, Silver and Bronze prizes were awarded by private voting according to the Grand Jury rules.<\/p><h4>Prizes<\/h4><p>Sponsored by the International Chocolate Awards, this Cacao Country Support Competition judged and adjudicated prizes for bars and other chocolate products. It is not a part of our 2023 World Final qualifying series.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9cece52 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9cece52\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>Competition Highlights<\/h4><p>Representing the entire country, among the richest in biodiversity in the world, the Colombian competition has brought into focus special regional cacaos from Arauca, the Sierra de Santa Marta, and Tumaco on the Pacific coast.<\/p><p>Fine chocolate flavored with high quality ingredients from Colombia\u2019s diverse biomes such as Arabica coffee, Andean gooseberries, and chontaduro, a staple in the Amazonian region and Colombia\u2019s Pacific coast, have seduced judges who are now calling for a deeper exploration of Colombia\u2019s broad repertoire of fruits and natural flavorings in the next competition. \u00a0<\/p><p>It has also highlighted\u00a0 the work of women as cacao growers and chocolate makers in Arauquita, Arauca, cowboy country, and kept the spotlight on\u00a0 young makers sourcing excellent cacao grown by the Arhuacos in a high mountain range by the sea, and on the tireless Japanese woman who continues to delight us with world-class chocolates made with fine regional Colombian cacao in Popay\u00e1n.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0c87260 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0c87260\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>Ganadores del 2do Concurso Nacional de Chocolate Colombiano<\/h4><p>El International Chocolate Awards se complace en anunciar los ganadores del 2do. Concurso Nacional de Chocolate Colombiano. Este concurso se realiz\u00f3 en el marco de la edici\u00f3n 2023 del Sal\u00f3n del Cacao y Chocolate Colombiano en Arauquita, una importante regi\u00f3n cacaotera del estado de Arauca. Dirigido por el Internacional Chocolate Awards, el concurso cont\u00f3 con el apoyo de los directivos del Sal\u00f3n y de la Federaci\u00f3n Nacional de Cacaocultores (FEDECACAO).<\/p><p>Este segundo concurso de chocolate colombiano es parte de un programa de concursos e iniciativas educativas denominado Programa de Apoyo a Pa\u00eds Productor de Cacao del International Chocolate Awards. Estos eventos se centran en el cacao de origen fino y siguen los mismos protocolos y reglas que se utilizan para todas nuestras competencias, las cuales son supervisadas por el IICCT y nuestro panel de expertos del Gran Jurado.<\/p><p>Los objetivos del concurso nacional colombiano han sido apoyar la excelencia, generar competencia, dar valor agregado al cacao fino colombiano mediante el reconocimiento de chocolates y productos derivados de alta calidad, promover negocios sustentables e incrementar el consumo de chocolate en el mercado nacional, as\u00ed como contribuir a la mayor visibilidad del chocolate colombiano a nivel internacional.
